There’s something magnetic about The Temper Trap on an Australian stage! A homecoming energy that fills every corner of the room. Liberty Hall pulsed with nostalgia and new life as the band tore through a set that balanced anthems and atmosphere in equal measure. The crowd? Electric. Every chorus was a chorus of voices. For a country so far from the global touring circuit, nights like this feel sacred. A reminder of how powerful live music can still be.

The Zac Brown Band looked very much at home at the River Stage with a killer set and watching the sold out crowd belt out “Chicken Fried” was unreal. The band was tight, and their cover of “Devil Went Down to Georgia” isn't something to miss. Opener Lewis Love, the 19 year-old from Ballarat, more than held his own and no doubt scored a heap of new fans with that rather croonish voice of his.

Playing an epic set at Roma Street Parklands, Cut Copy mixed in tracks from their new album into a run of crowd favourites from across their back catalogue. The energy was on point and, after not seeing Cut Copy since Big Day Out 2009, the nostalgic punch of 'Hearts on Fire' and 'Lights and Music' landed just as hard as it did back then. Among the newer material, 'When This Is Over' stood out as a highlight, while 'Solid' also found its mark with the crowd.
